Who corporate training is for
Corporate group training is a core Maple Commerce service. Ivan designs bespoke programmes or adapts existing curricula to a team’s tools, skill level and objectives. The typical buyer is an HR or L&D lead sourcing AI marketing training, or a marketing director who needs a named cohort able to rebuild one workflow rather than a company-wide seminar.
Minimum group size is typically 8 participants for in-house delivery. Effectiveness drops once a hands-on session runs much beyond twenty. If you have fewer than eight people, a public workshop or an individually claimed SkillsFuture course is usually the better route — see workshops and SkillsFuture AI marketing.
Delivery is in-person in Singapore or virtual for regional teams. Ivan has trained 3,000+ professionals across corporate, polytechnic and university programmes, including faculty work at SMU Academy, SIT and BCG RISE. The people in the room work with him directly; there is no junior trainer delivering a deck he wrote.
Why most corporate AI training does not stick
Most corporate AI training in Singapore fails before the first session starts. Not because the trainer is bad, but because the company booked a generic tool tour when what it needed was three people able to rebuild one specific workflow. HR books a half-day seminar, forty people attend, everyone nods, and six weeks later nobody has changed how they work. The training was an event, not a capability.
AI skills decay fast when they are not applied to real work. A marketer who learns prompt techniques on toy examples will not transfer that to campaign briefs on Monday. The teams that get results train on their own data, their own tools and their own processes — invoices they actually issue, support tickets they actually answer, reports they actually write.
The first filter when assessing any provider: do they ask for real workflows before quoting? If the curriculum is fixed before they have seen how the team works, the purchase is theatre. Ivan’s in-house programmes are scoped around the company’s stack. A 2026 AI marketing course that does not cover the tools the team will actually use is teaching last year’s playbook.
How a Maple Commerce workshop is run
The sequence is the opposite of training everyone at once. Pick one team with a measurable bottleneck. Train a small group deeply. Ship one workflow change within two weeks of the training. Let the first team demo to the rest. Internal proof travels further than an external trainer’s slides. The longer version of this argument is the corporate AI training guide.
Sessions are hands-on. Participants work with live tools — AI writing, image and analytics, plus at least one workflow automation step connected to a system they already use. Pre- and post-workshop assessments measure uplift rather than relying on a smile sheet. Customisation for in-house runs is not optional: if a provider quotes a fixed-price corporate workshop without first asking about tools, stack and skill level, the workshop will not fit.
Ivan's L&D work uses the FRAME methodology published on Results: Find evidence, Roles and Rules, Assemble, Measure and Modify, Expand. Course research is evidence-based; curriculum is mapped to funded programmes; capstone assessment is rubric-driven with a grade log per cohort, every stage human-reviewed. That is the same discipline as the marketing stack running this site — AI drafts, a person approves.
Where funding is relevant, selected programmes are eligible for SkillsFuture Credits (individuals) and SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (company-funded cohorts). Ivan is a SkillsFuture Approved Trainer and will confirm eligibility during the initial conversation rather than treating “AI training” as automatically claimable. Funding mechanics are on the SkillsFuture AI marketing page and in the SkillsFuture AI marketing training guide.
What the team leaves with
The test of the workshop is whether a named workflow actually changed — time taken, volume handled, or error rate — measured before the session and again four to eight weeks after. Satisfaction scores measure the day, not the capability. A cohort can enjoy a session and change nothing.
What participants keep is a defined post-workshop artefact: playbooks or SOPs the team can run without Ivan in the room, plus the assessment record. Results documents ten workflow rebuilds designed and prototyped by participants across Singapore sectors — property services, HR advisory, recruitment, logistics, finance operations and others — with before/after times the participants named themselves. SK Tan, an HR practitioner, wrote that after the course management reports took minutes rather than hours. Tiam Fook, on SMU Academy’s Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, went from almost no AI knowledge to building workflows three-quarters of the way through.
Formats on the workshops page include a full-day AI Marketing Fundamentals session, a half-day Semantic SEO masterclass, a full-day AI Content Strategy workshop, and a custom in-house programme. Several of those are SkillsFuture eligible. Enquire on Contact; Ivan walks companies through the claims process rather than leaving HR to assemble it from portal screenshots.
Frequently asked questions
- Do your training programmes qualify for SkillsFuture funding?
- Yes. Ivan is a SkillsFuture Approved Trainer. Individuals can use SkillsFuture Credits for eligible workshops. Companies can apply for SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC), which subsidises a significant portion of approved training costs.
- Can you train our entire marketing team?
- Yes. Corporate group training is a core service. Ivan designs bespoke programmes or adapts existing curricula to your team's tools, skill level, and objectives. Minimum group size is typically 8 participants for in-house delivery.
- How large should a corporate training cohort be?
- For in-house delivery, eight participants is a typical minimum for the economics to work, and effectiveness drops once a hands-on session runs much beyond twenty. If you have fewer than eight, a public cohort or an individually claimed course is usually the better route.
- How do you measure whether AI training worked?
- By whether a named workflow actually changed — time taken, volume handled, or error rate — measured before the workshop and again four to eight weeks after. Satisfaction scores measure the session, not the capability; a cohort can enjoy a day and change nothing.
